Christians Need to Prepare for Normalization of Gay Marriage

Though many Christians are going to try to deny "the obvious," evangelical leader Dr. Albert Mohler believes gay marriage is going to become normalized.

"I think it's clear that something like same-sex marriage is going to become normalized, legalized and recognized in the culture. It's time for Christians to start thinking about how we're going to deal with that," he said Friday on the Focus on the Family radio program.

Mohler, president of The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary, was speaking in response to the Obama administration's decision this week to stop defending the 1996 Defense of Marriage Act – federal law that defines marriage as between a man and a woman – in the courts.

In our eyes we find this Evangelical leader Dr. Albert Mohler to be quisling, a traitor, a betrayer of all things that are holy and righteous concerning  Jesus Christ, the Church, and the Word of God.

We also question here: How is it that the Christian Post is trumpeting Dr. Mohler’s call to surrender to Homosexual Marriage and not that far behind it.

Not too many years ago I recall the Homosexual community saying: We just want to get along. We just want to be able to live our lives privately, and in peace.  Since those days in the early and mid 1970’s we have found that Militant Homosexuality is anything but doing their perverse acts in private without legal or social harassment.  From its inception the Gay Liberation Army have sought to usurp the power of American citizens, state government and federal government to effectively rule this nation and its peoples.

We have spoken on this in a number of ways as related to news articles.  What is happening today in England regarding homosexuality dominating the whole of society is 5 to 10 years in the future for the US. Are we locked in to this so that it can not be stopped in our nation?  No, not at all. The Tea Party is a political force to be reckoned with in the areas of Federal Spending, Social Programs, and Christian-Judeo values.  We note here that homosexuals have realized the power in the Tea Party movement and have suddenly sought to insert themselves into GO-PAC and the Tea Party Movement as they see that their legislative plans are in danger with the coming conservative dominance of the White House, Congress, Senate, and Judicial System.  They know that the rights they have created have all been by judicial fiat and with one ruling of the Supreme Court their entire house of cards could completely fall apart.

What we are staying is that all the laws and special rights that Homosexual Activists have foisted upon this nation and its people are NOT cast in stone. If anything Christians need to repent, separate, and purge themselves of the evil and perversion that they have embraced.  When 2012 rolls around everyone needs to vote Tea Party in the primaries. And then support these candidates in everyway possible to get them into office displacing of course the liberal socialist progressives that have created the mess this nation is in; as well as Rino Republicans that have continually voted along with their democrat counterparts.  Already in the House of Representatives we see the greatest conservative efforts in more than a century seeking to pare back Obamacare, Planned Parenthood, Obama’s unelected Czars, The EPA, Ending TARP, The Obama Stimulus Program, and other grossly wasteful programs and giveaways.

From this we can see that this assault of Militant Homosexuality. Militant Feminism, Militant Environmentalism, Militant Atheism, and Militant Muslimism can all be turned back on their head as their super-citizenship rights can and will be suspended. As none have rights above American Citizens.

Look now at the UK where Homosexuality has been granted the unbridled reign over British Citizens.  Churches in the UK are shortly going to are being forced to marry homosexuals. Pro-homosexual legislation over the last three years has sought to force homosexual rule over the whole of British society. This all encompassing legislation begins in the public schools, and now in the latest move homosexual rule has come the UK church.

The Church needs to clean up the manure that has built up on its floor for the last 100 years and return to serving and following Jesus Christ.   The Church is not a political party, the Church is not a lobbyist organization; the Church is not for wealth creation, the church is not a protest group.  The Church is disciples of Jesus Christ plus nothing.

Conservative groups and Christians have criticized Obama for going against his duty as president to defend the law.  This is a matter of constitutional law

"When a president takes oath of office, he's upholding ... defending the laws of the United States of America," said Mohler, who also noted that DOMA had passed as a bipartisan effort.

"The White House has clearly made a calculation that it can do this now with far less political risk than it could even two years ago."

Though Obama has always expressed his desire to repeal DOMA, his personal view on marriage had been traditional.

While on the campaign trail, running as the Democratic presidential nominee, Obama asserted his belief that marriage is the union between a man and a woman. He added, while being interviewed by Pastor Rick Warren, that "for me as a Christian, it's also a sacred union. God's in the mix."

Recently, however, he has stated that his views on gay marriage are "evolving."

The Obama administration has been pro-gay since taking office two years ago and Mohler noted that there has been a long trajectory on the issue of gay marriage pointing to this day.

With the Justice Department now pulling its defense of DOMA, pending legal challenges against the federal law will likely result with the nullification of DOMA, Mohler predicted.

"You can say, the cards are pretty much stacked against DOMA," he illustrated.

He warned that when Christians feel threatened, they have to be careful not to lash out with a predictable response.

The Southern Baptist made it clear that he was not saying that they are giving up. Marriage is still an institution Christians need to save, particularly in their own community. But Christians also need to start learning how to deal with the shifting culture and even face the fact that they may lose a few from their flock.

"I think we're going to be surprised and heartbroken over how many people are going to capitulate to the spirit of the age," he noted. "We're going to find now that there may not be as many of us as we thought."

Nevertheless, Christians must be prepared to make marriage one of the many topics where parents have to have "the talk."

"It's interesting now that the world is so morally upside down that when we talk about marriage we have to make a distinction between natural marriage – heterosexual marriage – and this new thing that people are calling marriage," Mohler said.

"We have to prepare our children to be in a context in which they're going to be in a playground with children who have two dads or two moms or who knows what kind of combination will come."

Ultimately, the worldview or the belief that God designed marriage to be between a man and a woman only makes sense if one understands the Gospel, Mohler pointed out, which raises a critical point:

"This whole situation reminds us that we are, first of all, to be Gospel people who are fellow sinners ... saved by grace, with the responsibility to share the Gospel with others."
